Odyssey was started as a hobby by Abbie & Ed Voelker who liked to share the great things they found when they traveled abroad. Initially, they opened seasonally in a small shop located in Alexandria, Louisiana -- after a buying trip.

Colin Riggs, Abbie's daughter took over the shop from Abbie and Ed in 1993 and moved it to Lafayette, Louisiana in 2002 where she operated in The Village of River Ranch -- and now, Colin takes those trips abroad to find great looking glass, ceramics and other gifts around the world and make them available to you in your living room.
